Barcelona, September 2018 – Casa Gracia, the first luxury hostel in Barcelona, opened its doors in 2010 as the dream of a group of friends in love with traveling, who wanted to create an accommodation where everybody could feel like home.
The building has 145 rooms, in addition to common areas and 800 sqm dedicated to gastrocultural activities
Fostering neighborhood and Barcelona tourism outside the traditional tourist circuits are some of the objectives of this unique accommodation
The integration in Gràcia neighborhood is one of the pillars of this hostel, which claims neighborhood tourism as the best way to meet the essence of a city. For this reason, Casa Gracia collaborates with shops and professionals of the neighborhood in its La Petita Gràcia space (the showcase that every month promotes a store or artisan of the neighborhood) and in all the events organized in Casa.
Affordable lodging needn’t sacrifice comfort
Casa Gracia has 145 rooms of different types, from shared dorms with 4 or 6 beds to luxurious apartments with terrace and views over Barcelona. In addition, the superior double rooms and suites have balconies and terraces in the upper part of the prestigious Passeig de Gràcia, one of the most exclusive streets in Barcelona.
Also, there are plenty of common areas to feel like home. The fully equipped kitchen, where guests can cook their meals and enjoy them in the dining room or the terrace, which is the perfect place to enjoy some sun in Summer and for our yoga classes in the morning. Besides these, on the first floor we can also find the Library and Mirror room, two connected rooms with large windows above Passeig de Gràcia where guests can nap, read, work or even play guitar.
The objective of Casa Gracia is to welcome all types of public, with different origin and purchasing power, who have a common will to mingle with other travelers and live locally, discovering the local life of the cities they visit.
Leading Gastroculturality
The hostel has a gastrocultural space that aims to be the meeting point for the people of Barcelona (by birth or adoption) and travelers who are passing by the city. Here you can find La Paisana, a restaurant that specializes in Catalan recipes, with international touches and always using local products from the neighborhood.
Next to La Paisana, De Tranquis is the perfect place to enjoy a long coffee on one of the sofas, or an informal meeting at one of the tables in the room. It is an open space where everybody is welcome and where several cultural activities are planned every day by Casa Gracia or one of its partners. Besides, it can be booked for private events.
In the underground floor, you find El Bis, the most avant-garde dance bar in the neighborhood, where you can enjoy the best underground music in the city; the Mig Bis, a former bank safe remaining of the time when a bank was housed in the building, now turned into a private room for dinners and meetings; and Bis à Vip, an old bunker inside El Bis where you can enjoy a quiet and private environment while drinking a great cocktail.
Finally, on this floor you can also find No Mas Te, a large room ideal for meetings and private events, as well as cultural happenings and yoga classes, where natural light enters from the ceiling making it a very special place.
